The Basin, Melbourne. Our client was looking for a sustainable, low maintenance landscape which complemented their house. We introduced a billabong and stream using storm water harvested from their roof.
Beautiful stepping stones draw you over the billabong into a journey through this amazing garden.
Plant choice is focused on drought tolerant and lower maintenance species, in particular using indigenous aquatic planting in the billabong.
Where possible, site elements are reused, including retention of some existing paving and reuse of soil on site. Just as important as the design is, the execution of the project from the perspective of sustainable-resource-use. These sustainable building practices will reduce waste, energy use, transport costs and pollution.
